A well-known test to avoid getting into fake information is CRAAP. It is easy to use since there are a set of questions that you can use in case you need to know how real or certain the information you have is.
CRAAP stands for:
Currency, look for the date in which the article was published. There must be some information about the article and the date when it was published, so you can be sure it is trustful information.
Relevance, think if the information you got, is the one you need, or you look for. Also, the author must include information related to the topic that suplements the main idea.
Authority, the writer must be trustful , the person must belong to an institution, organization, or university to provide that the information is real.
Accuracy, look for a conclusion that is substantiate by the author, different points of view that make a balance of the information.
Purpose, there must be a main goal of the information, arguments have to be mentioned.
